Busy Agenda for Wednesday Workshop

There are lots of interesting and important items up for discussion at this month's workshop meeting, which will take place this Wednesday, April 1 at 9:00 a.m. Council discussion topics will include:
  • Belle Isle political signs ordinance
  • Canvassing audit
  • Lake Conway East 1995 engineering report
  • Delia Beach update

Additionally, City Attorney Frank Kruppenbacher will be addressing the issue of the height variance recently requested by Beech Outdoor Company for a billboard in the Trentwood/McCoy area. You can read more about the requested variance by clicking here.

The requested height variance was denied by the Belle Isle Planning and Zoning Board on Tuesday, March 24. However, the billboard company has appealed the P&Z Board's denial, which means that the Belle Isle City Council is scheduled to vote on the height variance at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, April 7 at 6:00 p.m.

Just as a reminder, workshop meetings such as the one this Wednesday are intended for in-depth Council discussion of City issues. However, public comment is not presently permitted at workshop meetings. So if you are concerned about the billboard variance or any of the other issues up for discussion, you can learn more at the workshop meeting and then express your thoughts at the regular Council meeting coming up next Tuesday.

Once again, the workshop meeting begins at 9:00 a.m. this Wednesday, April 1. You can find a copy of the workshop meeting agenda linked below.
